Rigor is creating an environment in which each student is expected to learn at high levels,
each student is supported so he or she can learn at high levels,
and each student demonstrates learning at high levels (Blackburn, 2008).

A great website for new teachers!

I've been reading Teacher Net for a couple of years. I've even done a live chat and written an article for them.  I've found they are a great site, especially for new teachers.  Filled with ideas, including a regular column by Rosemary and Harry Wong, there's something for everyone. I also like the message boards, as they seem to answer the most common questions teachers have.  Check it out.

Happy Valentine's Day

I have always known I wanted to be a teacher.  My dad was a teacher and college professor, and my mom was a school secretary.  On this Valentine's Day, I wanted to thank all teachers who put their hearts and soul into their students knowing they may not be appreciated.  Thank you, and you make a difference.
